Household chores that don't rely on remembering
TapComplete puts the reminder where the job actually is. Tap a tag to see if it's been done, and get one end-of-day nudge for what's left, not a wall of overdue alerts.
The problem isn't knowing what to do
- Out of sight, out of mind: the chore list lives in an app you never open.
- "Did I already do that?" So it gets done twice, or not at all.
- Reminder apps that pile up red badges until you mute them for good.
- No idea when the flea treatment, bedding or filter was last done.
- Nagging, or being nagged, about jobs in a shared home.
The reminder lives on the thing
A tag on the bin cupboard, the plant or the washing machine is a cue you'll actually see, right where the job happens.
"Did I do it?" answered in one tap
Tap the tag and see "Last done Tuesday, by you". No guessing, no doing it twice.
One calm summary
A single end-of-day notification lists only what's still to do. Everything done? Silence. Specific times are only used for the tasks you choose.
Late doesn't snowball
Set tasks to count from when they're done, so a missed week resets from the day you catch up instead of stacking up as overdue.
What to tag, and how often
A gentle starting point. Start with two or three tasks that bother you most, and add more once they stick.
| Task | Repeats | Where the tag goes |
|---|---|---|
| Put the bins out | Weekly on collection day | On the wheelie bin: inside the lid, or a waterproof keyfob tag on the handle |
| Water the plants | Every 5 days, counted from when it's done | On the watering can |
| Change the bedding | Every 2 weeks, counted from when it's done | On the side of the bed frame |
| Clean the shower | Weekly, counted from when it's done | On the bathroom mirror |
| Pet flea treatment | Monthly, counted from when it's done | By the lead hook or pet food cupboard |
| Sort the post and bills | Weekly | On the post tray by the front door |
Why a physical tag helps
A to-do list on your phone only works if you remember to look at it. A tag stuck to the thing that needs doing is there every time you walk past, and tapping it gives you a straight answer: done, or not yet.
Start small
Pick the two or three jobs that cause the most "did I remember to…?" moments in your home and tag those first. It's easier to build the habit on a handful of tasks than on a list of forty.
Make the reminders work for you
Set your end-of-day summary for a time you're usually home and able to act on it. Only give a task a specific time when the time really matters, like putting the bins out the night before collection. Everything else can just be "sometime today".
Sharing the load
In a shared home, Pro lets everyone see the same list and who did what. That means fewer "did you…?" conversations, and you can give each job to the person who's doing it, so only they get reminded.
Questions
Is TapComplete made for people with ADHD?
TapComplete is for anyone who forgets household jobs. Several things in it, like reminders that live on the object, one end-of-day summary and schedules that count from when you actually did something, were chosen with that kind of forgetting in mind. It's an everyday organising tool, not a medical or treatment app.
Will it bombard me with notifications?
No. By default you get one summary at the end of the day listing what's still to do, and nothing if you're done. Tasks only get their own alert if you give them a specific time. You can change the summary time or switch reminders off.
What happens if I miss a task?
It shows as overdue until you do it. For tasks set to repeat 'counted from when it's done', the next one is scheduled from the day you actually complete it, so a missed week doesn't turn into a backlog.
Can I share chores with a partner or housemates?
Yes, with Pro. Invite up to 5 people: everyone sees the same tasks and who did what, and you can assign jobs to specific people so only they get reminded.
Can I use it for medication reminders?
TapComplete isn't designed for safety-critical reminders like medication. Please use a dedicated medication app or your pharmacist's advice for those.
