Who we are
TapComplete is run by Gavin Jones, trading as TapComplete ("we"), the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at privacy@tapcomplete.app.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Household details: your household's name, its members and their roles, and email addresses you invite.
- Tasks and activity: the tasks you create, their schedules, groups and assignees, and each completion (who, when, whether it was tapped from a tag, and any note you add).
- Device details: a push-notification token, your device platform and time zone, so we can send reminders at the right local time.
- Subscription status: whether your household has an active subscription through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details.
- Launch sign-ups: the email address and name you enter on this website.
- Website analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. If you accept cookies on this website, Google Analytics also records how you found and used the site (see Cookies).
- Technical logs: IP addresses and request details, kept briefly for security and to prevent abuse.
The app has no analytics or advertising, the website only uses analytics cookies if you accept them, and we never sell your data.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you've asked for: your account, household, tasks, tag links and reminders (contract).
- To manage subscriptions and send essential service emails such as password resets and invites (contract).
- To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interests).
- To tell launch sign-ups when the app is available (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To understand how many people visit the website and which pages help: cookie-free statistics (legitimate interests), and Google Analytics only with your consent.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that run parts of the service for us, under contracts that protect your data:
- Supabase: database hosting (EU, Ireland).
- Railway: application hosting.
- Resend: sending service emails.
- Expo, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service: delivering reminders to your phone.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google: processing and verifying in-app subscriptions.
- Cloudflare: hosting this website and protecting our domains.
- Google Analytics: website statistics, only if you accept cookies.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
Members of your household can see the household's tasks, completions, notes and member names.
Cookies
The TapComplete app doesn't use cookies for tracking. On this website we only set analytics cookies if you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. These are Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and_ga_ES30H1DB7R) which help us understand how people find the site; they last up to 2 years. If you choose "Reject", or ignore the banner, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage. You can change it any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records by law. Completions you made in a shared household are anonymised rather than deleted, so the household's history still makes sense.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@tapcomplete.app. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
TapComplete is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you think we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we make significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
